What we have learned this week…

02/02/2010

We have been very busy as usual doing lots of fun things! We have been learning how to tell the time with Mrs Munro and we learned how to use “o’clock”. We were learning more about blogging and we went to play in the nursery. We have been doing some music this week, we were playing instruments along with the beat – it waslots of  fun!

We made some lovely pictures of snowmen with Mrs More and we will put up some pictures of them soon. We read Alisha’s book called “Bear” it was lovely. We learned the “sh” sound and have all been practising using it in class and listening out for it in words! We have been talking about our topic which is “Litter and recycling” and we have made a lovley sign for the back wall.

We have two new friends in class - Eric and Séamus. Eric is a ladybird who helps us with our quiet reading. Séamus is a Leprechaun who has come to our class from Ireland to see what we have been learning about. We will put pictures of them both on the blog for you to see soon.

We will blog again soon

What we have been learning this week…

22/01/2010

We decided to do our first learning post all together as we are all still learning about blogging! This has been a very busy week for us in P1. We have learned two new sounds “x” and “ch” (don’t worry, we will show you the actions and sing you the song!) We have been doing lots of counting and are learning to play bingo which is really fun :) Lots of people brought in books for us to read and they were all brilliant – we all especially liked Scott’s book “room on the broom”. We learned about the difference between a fiction and a non-fiction book and we read a non-fiction book about keeping your teeth healthy. We all had our first turn on the smart board on Friday, where we got to play with some lovely colours and lights – you can see them in the ”imagination games” link.

We also did our evening performance of “It’s a cracker” and everyone thought it was brilliant and even though we were a bit nervous it was great fun! We are also delighted to see we have had some visitors from around the country to the blog, if you click on the map on the page it shows you where our visitors are from and how many times people have seen our blog!

Hope you have a lovely weekend and we will blog again soon!

07/12/2009

Welcome to the P1 Kinmylies blog! This is going to be a great new feature of our learning in the 2010 term and beyond! This is a place to bring together lots of information about what is going on in our class to help people who are not in our room everyday to see what we get up to all day long! Please feel free to leave comments or suggestions as we always love to hear from you!

See you soon
